Margie Louise Gilbert

Margie Louise Gilbert, 79, of Rosedale, MS, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at her home. Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home with Brother Chris Gentry officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Louise was born on September 8, 1939, to Emmitte and Mary Haire in Calhoun City, Mississippi. On April 19, 1958, she married Alton Edward Gilbert, Sr. in Cleveland, MS. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, reading, completing puzzle books, and watching movies. Louise's favorite movies were Matlock, Perry Mason, and Murder She Wrote. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family on Sundays.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton E. Gilbert, Sr.; parents, Emmitte and Mary Haire; brothers, L.E. Haire , Lloyd Haire, J.B. Haire; sister, Mary Elizabeth Patterson; and Linda Gilbert (wife of Alton Gilbert, Jr.).
Louise is survived by her daughter, Lucy Mathews (Darrell) of Covington, GA; sons, Alton Gilbert, Jr. of Cleveland, John Raymond Gilbert, Sr. (Patricia) of Rosedale, David Len Gilbert, Sr. (Shellie) of Greenville, and Wendell Creig Gilbert (Tracy) of Cleveland; sister, Ruby Aderholt of Clarksdale; special friend, Sue Brown of Rosedale; 15 grandchildren;  and 25 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alton Gilbert, Jr., Eddie Gilbert, John Gilbert, III., Henry Gilbert, Austin Gilbert, David Gilbert, Jr., and Wendell Gilbert, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nate Jones, Gabriel  Gilbert, Tyler Patton, Jacob Block, and Daylan Block.
