Margie was born on June 4, 1933, to Jack and Lillie Pike in Benoit, MS. On September 16, 1950, she married Zellie Leonard Smith in Greenville, MS. Margie was a kind hearted woman who loved her family and the children she cared for. Her main job was the home nursery she ran for many years. The children called her Mrs. Margie and loved her as much as she loved them. Every year she would receive Christmas cards from the children she kept in the past and always stayed in touch with each one.
When Margie wasn't with the children, she was quilting. She spent most of her time making quilts for her family and special occasions. On Saturday nights, you could find Margie staying up late to watch old Western movies which she enjoyed doing. She also enjoyed gardening in her green patch. Margie took pride in her greens and allowed others to take only a certain amount out at their choosing.
Throughout Margie's many activities, she always had her beloved dog Reese by her side through it all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Zellie Leonard Smith; parents, Jack and Lillie Mae Pike; sisters; Marie Pike and Shirley Orr; and brother, Bobby Pike.
Margie is survived by her children, Eddie Smith (Gail) of Greenville and Terry Necaise (Bryan) of Picayune; grandchildren, Chris Smith, Marie (TK) Harmon, Kristin (Jonathan) Mills, and Joey Helms; great grandchildren, Madison (Dillian) Foster, Payten Smith, Lincoln Mills, Andrew Mills, Jennifer Henson, Lori Anested, and Ali Ferguson; great-great grandchild, Levi Ferguson; brothers, Buddy (Catherine) Pike and Fred (Kathy) Pike; and a host of nieces and nephews.
