Marjorie Goodyear Hackney

Marjorie Goodyear Hackney, 89, of Cleveland was called home to be with the Lord Friday, November 6, 2020. A visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at Ray Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, MS with Pastor Brad Corban officiating. Pallbearers are Brent Rogers, Trevor Runnels, Scott Fuquay, Thomas Jones, Marshall Jones, Tres Heinsz, and Will Hackney. Honorary Pallbearers Jim Tims, Bob Card and Ron Hill. Marjorie was born June 10, 1931 to Clifton and Joyce Goodyear. She married Billy Pierce Hackney in August 1950 in Memphis, TN. She worked at Delta State in the business office for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church in Cleveland, MS for over 60 years. Marjorie greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded by her parents, Clifton and Joyce Goodyear; husband of 59 years, Billy Pierce Hackney. Marjorie is survived by her sons, Chuck Hackney (Julia) and Michael Hackney (Alyson); daughter, Beth Heinsz (Charlie); brother, William D Goodyear (Judy); grandchildren, Brittany Cockrell (Ryan), Brigham Heinsz, Tres Heinsz, Lauren Taylor Hackney, Anna Pierce Hackney, Jordan Whitlach (Chris), Cameron Kusmertz (Jacob), and Will Hackney; great grandchildren, Charlie Kerr Cockrell, Liam Whitlach, Eliza Whitlach, Silas Whitlach, Logan Kusmertz, and Elliott Kusmertz.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church.
