Obituary of Mary Emma Nicholson Ingram
On Wednesday, July 08, 2020, Mary Emma Nicholson Ingram was received into the loving arms of Jesus, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. A visitation honoring her life will be held Friday, July 10, 2020 from 10-11am, at Ray Funeral Home, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11am at Ray Funeral Home . A Graveside service will follow the in the North Cleve-land Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, or to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Mary was born January 5, 1934, in Philadelphia, Mississippi, to Marvin Watkins Nicholson and Flora De' Lois Coats Nicholson. On February 28, 1953, she married the love of her life, Patrick Edward Ingram. They reared a son, Patrick Edward Ingram, Jr., and a daughter, Janice Lynn Ingram Gilreath in Cleveland, Mississippi, the beautiful town they both loved and cherished. Mary Emma Nicholson was employed with Bell Telephone Company in Greenwood, Mississippi, when she and Pat Ingram met in 1952. She later began work as his assistant in his and their son's New York Life Office, where she worked for almost 50 years. Mary was the "perfect southern lady", and an amazing cook who relished preparing nutritious meals and special occasions for her family and friends. She loved decorating, and took great pride in all things home-related. Mary was a accomplished pianist, and enjoyed accompanying her husband on the piano as he sang. She was also a talented seamstress, and taught her daughter to sew as well. Mary and Pat loved traveling, and took many trips over the years, within the United States and abroad. Most of all, they adored time with their beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ingram is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Patrick Edward Ingram. Also preceding her in passing are her parents, Marvin Watkins Nicholson, and Flora De' Lois Coats Nicholson, her brother Harold Devon Nicholson (Helen), sister Shirley Ann Nicholson Carpenter (James), and brother Paul Ed-ward Nicholson. Mary is survived by her son, Patrick Edward Ingram, Jr., and her daughter, Janice Lynn Ingram Gilreath (William). She is also survived by her sister, Doris Marie Nicholson Counts (John), and her brother Marvin Watkins Nicholson, Jr., (Judy). Mrs. Ingram leaves four loving grandchildren, Heather Nicole Gilreath (Cliff), Patrick Edward Ingram, III (Tara), Hayley Elizabeth Gilreath Stevens (Keith), and Kaitlin Ashley Ingram Snyder (Erik). She is also survived by two beloved great-grandchildren, Riley Ann Ingram and Ryker Edward Ingram. Mrs. Ingram leaves a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
