Mary Lucille McCool

Mrs. Mary Lucille McCool, 84, of Cleveland went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in Cleveland, MS. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home with A Celebration of Life immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at North Cleveland Cemetery. The family request everyone wear a mask.
She was born December 30, 1935 in Gunnison, MS to Andrew and Sarah Millican. She graduated from Skene High School and attended Delta State College. Mary married Perry L McCool on August 21, 1955 at Skene Baptist Church. She worked at Delta State University for the Department of Social Workers. In her spare time, she would read books, sew, and cross stitch. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time outside gardening and then cooking up a good meal. Most of all, Mary loved being with her family and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS where she also served as a librarian for many years.
She is preceded by her parents, Andrew and Sarah Millican; husband, Perry Lynn McCool; brothers, Jimmy, Troy, and Roy Millican; sister, Patricia Whitfield. Mary is survived by her sisters, Jean Millen (Louis) and Peggy Sullivan; children, Bill McCool (Connie) and Gary L McCool (Geletha); grandchildren, Dave McCool (Brittany), Brittnee Causley (Mitchell), Lindsey Wasson (Eric), Austin Forbes (Jessie), Drew McCool, and Logan McCool; and a host of great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
