Mrs. Mary Edna Phelps Robinson, 88, of Cleveland, MS, passed away at Bolivar Medical Center, Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Celebration of life service will be in North Cleveland Cemetery at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2011.
Mrs. Robinson was born February 15, 1923 to Ciscero Collins and Murzie Avent Phelps. She attended Merigold School in Merigold, MS. She married Bro. Mack A. Robinson, Sr. on August 1, 1940. When he died they were just shy of having spent 65 years together. She was a member of Ray Memorial Baptist Church in Skene. Being a pastor's wife, put her on the move a lot. Mrs. Robinson lived briefly in New Jersey before returning to Mississippi to live. She met many people and lived all over northern Mississippi before settling in Cleveland. Mrs. Robinson worked at Misceramic Tile Plant and Baxters. She retired and became a homemaker, who loved to cook and read. She loved being with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ciscero Collins Phelps and Murzie Avent Phelps; sisters Amarylis Phelps, Versie Malone; brothers, Ciscero Collins Phelps, Jr. and Harold Phelps; sisters Jeanette Franklin and Frances Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Susan L. Robinson.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her sons, Mack A. Robinson, Jr. of Southaven, MS, Ken Robinson (Gail) of Lake Village, AR, and Mickey Robinson (Paula) of Cleveland, MS; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bro. Frank Johnson; and sister-in-law, Rose Phelps.
