Mildred Helms Sellers

Mrs. Mildred Helms Sellers, 91, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016, in Grenada. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Haney officiating. Interment will follow in North Cleveland Cemetery. Mrs. Sellers was born November 30, 1924, in Rosedale, MS. Mildred was a Baptist and attended Yale Street Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Draughon's Business College and worked in the office at Gibson's Department Store.
She loved gardening, watching sports on television, and traveling with her niece, Linda. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Sellers is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Lucille Helms; son, Ronnie Sellers; sisters, Helen Barnett and Margaret Hudspeth; and dear friend, Hoyt Denson. She is survived by her son, Ray Sellers (Pat); daughter-in-law, Linda Sellers; three granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and special nieces and a nephew.
Pallbearers will be Mike Parker, Torrey Simon, Roger Morgan, Eckward McKnight, Michael Biggs, and Julian Hardy. In memory of Mrs. Sellers, donations may be made to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children 2500 N. State St. Jackson, MS 39216.
