Nola Jean Roncali

Mrs. Nola Jean Holmes Roncali, 63, of Shaw, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Howell and Bro. Pete Roncali officiating. Mrs. Roncali was born January 23, 1953, in Memphis, TN, to Howard Benford Holmes and Rosemary Hale Holmes. On November 9, 1974, she married Frankie Claiborne Roncali, Sr. in Shaw, MS. She was a tremendous cook who could make a good meal out of anything, and she worked as a catering specialist at Delta State University for over twenty years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church of God and she loved riding the lawn mower, working in the yard, being around horses, gardening and she was crazy about humming birds. She also was a good teacher and a very loving woman who could often be found spending time at the American Legion. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Douglas Holmes and Rosemary Hale Holmes; sisters, Rose Lann and Debra Sloan; and brother, Douglas Holmes. Mrs. Roncali is survived by her husband, Frankie Roncali, Sr. of Shaw; daughter, Cassandra Brown (Johnny) of Beckville, TX; son, Leslie Roncali of Shaw; step-son, Frankie Roncali, Jr. (Kim) of Bassfield; grandchildren, Chase Brown of Killeen, TX, Brittney Brown of Beckville, TX, and Jason Mills of Atlanta, GA; great-grandson, Gage Brown; brothers, Billy Wayne Holmes and Charles Holmes; sisters, Carolyn Thornson and Vicky Nash.
