Peggy Moody

Peggy Shoops Moody was called home to our Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021. A Visitation will be held at Ray Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 2-3 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service following at 3 p.m. Interment will be at the New Cleveland Cemetery. Born December 1, 1946, to Charles Winfred Shoops and Ruth Tedder Shoops. Peggy Ann, to all who knew her, was a unique, selfless, and caring individual who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Morrison Chapel. She married John L Moody on July 7, 1966 and was a loving mother to their children. Peggy was totally dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in all aspects of their lives. She was a mom, a granny, an encourager, an inspiration, a friend, and an awesome cook! Peggy worked in accounting/bookkeeping profession for 50 plus years and retired at the age of 70.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Shoops, daughter Linda Donovan and husband John L Moody.
She is survived by her brother Charles Ruben Shoops; her son John L Moody II (Ginger) of MS, daughters Paula Wand (George) of MS, Phyillis Villescaz (Michael) of LA, Carla Crites of MS, grandsons Jacob Anderson of MS, Michael Donovan of MS, Curtis Wand of MS, Daniel Wand (Courtney) of MS, Brian Villescaz of LA, Alex Villescaz of MS, Eric Villescaz of LA, Stephen Crites of MN, granddaughters Jade Merritt of MS, Colbie Merritt of MS, Devona Dew (Ben) of MS, Laurie Goodin (Stephen) of MS, Jessica Penny (Jonathan) of MS, great grand children Jackson Dew, Dylan Slocum, Darby Dew, Kaitlyn Smith, Lillian Goodin, Zoey Villescaz, Hadlee Wand, Caleb Goodin, and Otto Wand. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Batson Children's Hospital or any charity of your choice.
