Peggy Flanagan Shaffer

Peggy Flanagan Shaffer, 88, of Shaw, MS went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 11, 2023.  A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery in Cleveland, MS.

Peggy was born February 24, 1934, to Joe B and Dorothy Bell Flanagan in Lake Village, AR.  She graduated from Cleveland High School.  Peggy married James C Shaffer on November 26, 1954, and they had three children.  She briefly worked at Baxter’s.  Peggy was a homemaker and a wonderful mom.  She was a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel music.  Most of all, she loved the Lord and talked about him all the time.  She was a great friend who enjoyed spending time her, family, and friends.

She is predeceased by her parents, Joe B and Dorothy Bell Flanagan; husband, James Cecil Shaffer; son, James Dale Shaffer; brother, Joe B Flanagan; daughter-in-law, Lisa Horne Shaffer; son-in-law, Jerry Salley.

Peggy is survived by his daughters, Carrie Baldwin (Jimmy) and Ginger Shaffer Salley; grandchildren, Taylor Shaffer (Melinda) of Cleveland, MS, Joshua Adam Shaffer (Melissa) of Cleveland, MS, Jerry Dwayne Salley of Cleveland, MS, Samantha Salley of Cleveland, MS, Angela Salley of Alabama; and five great grandchildren; and long-life friend, Billie Jean Allegrezza.

The family would like to give a special thanks to North Sunflower Home Health and Hospice, Francis Cruse.
