Ray Michael Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ray Thompson, a cherished soul whose presence brought joy and warmth to those around him. 

A visitation honoring Ray will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 1-2pm at Ray Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service at 2pm. A graveside will follow in the Lambert Cemetery in Lambert, MS 

Ray Michael Thompson was born on December 2, 1985 in Cleveland, MS to his parents, Johnny Ray Thompson & Joyce Marie Lawson. Ray grew up in Cleveland where he attended school. After school Ray started his career in Tree Surgery in which he worked for Peacock Tree Surgery for 15 years until his retirement. Most of all Ray was a gentle spirit who found solace in the simple pleasures of life: fishing, playing video games, and sharing laughter and good food with loved ones. His kind heart and laid-back personality endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ray's presence was a beacon of comfort in a world often fraught with turmoil, his calming presence a balm for troubled souls. He approached life with a sense of acceptance and understanding that touched the hearts of those around him.

Ray is preceded in passing by his father Johnny Ray Thomspon, grandparents, Jd & Anna Lee Thompson, Herman & Dollie Lawson, as well as his aunt, uncle, and cousins. 
 
Ray is survived by his loving mother, Joyce Marie Thompson, Sister, Dollie Marie Thompson, Aunt/Second Mother, Anita Lawson, Uncle Bobby Jo Lawson, Aunt, Jo Ann Columbus, Uncle, Wade Thompson, and Aunt Betty Su Porter., Cousin, Champ Gilbert(Cassie) & host of loving family &  friends. 

The family wants to give a special thank you to Jamie Allen of Adoration Hospice for her tender love and care as well Butch Peacock for being a sincere friend during this time. 
 
As we mourn the loss of Ray, we take solace in the memories we shared with him and the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. In honor of his life, we will gather to celebrate his memory and bid him farewell in a peaceful ceremony that reflects the beauty of his spirit.
