Robert Daran Franklin

Robert Daran Franklin, 55, of Gunnison, MS, passed away on May 21, 2017, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Braswell officiating. Interment will be in held in Shelby Cemetery.
Robert was born on April 6, 1962, to Willis Cahoon Franklin and Louise Brock Franklin in Newport, Arkansas. In 1986, he married Debbie McCloud in Arkansas. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Gulf War also known as the Desert Storm. Robert was a talented and outstanding musician; he was able to play several different instruments and also was a superb singer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie McCloud Franklin and father, Willis Cahoon Franklin.
Robert is survived by his mother, Louise Brock Franklin of Gunnison, MS; daughters, Jennifer Nicole Franklin of Southaven, MS and Ashley Christine Franklin of Guntown, MS; son, Cody Duran Cohn of Fairfield, IA; sisters, Lori Johnson of Gunnison, MS and Susie Wagoner of Tuttle, OK; brother, Todd Springer of Fort Smith, AR; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
