Robert Duane Walters, 20, of Cleveland, MS passed away on November 29, 2019 in Sunflower County. Visitation will be held on December 3, 2019 at 11:00AM to 1:00PM with services to follow at Ray Funeral Home. At the request of the family, casual attire to be worn for the service.
Robert was born on July 7, 1999 in Cleveland, MS to Mr. Robert H. Walters and Betty Lorrain Copes. He graduated from North Sunflower Academy in 2017 and attended Mississippi Delta Community College. Robert was born with a love of the outdoors. If it could be hunted or fished, he did it. He never met a stranger or someone he didn't want to help. His smile was contagious. Robert had one of the biggest hearts there was. He loved all animals but held a special place in his heart for his dog, Mally. Robert aspired to be an agricultural pilot and he had a work ethic that was second to none. The word "Quit" was simply not in his vocabulary.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Duane Copes; grandfather, Bob Walters; and his aunt, Charlam Hopper
Robert is survived by his mother, Betty Copes (Gary Barnett); his father, Rob Walters (Teresa); his sisters, Kathryne Walters (Swayde); Lauren Barnett (Calob), Kristin Barnett, Marie Shaw, Katie Gentry, and Taylor Shaw; his brother, Zack Mooney; his grandmother, Janette Copes (Duane); his grandmother, Donna Berry (Mark); his grandparents. Cindy and Clint Weaver; his aunts, Leeann Copes, Corina Lockwood (Dale), Dee Callison (David), and Lori Walters (Nicole); his uncles, Brannon Hardin (Missy) and Michael Hardin (Abby); and his nieces, Ryleigh Dianna Smith and Charlam Reese-Walters
Honorary Pallbearers: Rivers Ray, Brent Baughman, Dusty Fuller, and Trent Griffin Jr., and Swayde Pirtle
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ducks Unlimited-National Turkey Wildlife Federation.
