Ronald Joseph 'Ron' Durastanti, Jr.

Ronald Joseph "Ron" Durastanti, Jr., 36, of Madison, MS, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at his home. Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS. The family invites friends would like to invite friends to share remembrances from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2016, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS, with Father Tom Mulally officiating. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery. Ron was born on November 14, 1979, to Ronald Joseph "Joe" Durastanti, Sr. and Donna Sue Staggs Durastanti. He attended St. Richard Elementary and graduated from Jackson Preparatory School in 1998. He continued his education by obtaining a BS degree in Marketing from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2004. He was a big hearted, loving person who reached out to all and had a love for children. He was always smiling, had a free spirit, and never took life too seriously. Deep rooted in his faith, as a young Catholic he learned he was given a gift from God to be able to listen and be there for others. He was accepting of all people and saw the goodness in everyone. He could never pass up a chance to shop at a vintage store and was always looking for rare items. He loved football both playing and as a spectator, and he cheered on Ole Miss, USM, and The Saints. In his spare time he was an avid cook, loved listening to music, and enjoyed reading especially the criminal law genre. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Sophie Durastanti and Fred and Frances Staggs; uncle, Freddi Staggs; and aunts, Loretta Durastanti Harell and Serena Fioranelli. Ron is survived by his father, Joe Durastanti of Madison; mother, Donna Sue Staggs Durastanti West of Ridgeland; sister, Angela Sophia Durastanti (Michael) McReynolds of Brandon, MS; niece, Addison Jewel McReynolds of Brandon; aunts and uncles, Melissa Jeffcoat of Biloxi, Tommy Staggs (Gina) of Roundaway, Steve Harell of Madison, and Vicki Lumpkin of Ocean Springs; great-great uncle, Tommy Robuck of Cordova, TN; and cousins, Chandler Harell, Paul Fioranelli, Casey Johnson, Jake Jeffcoat, Jill Farish, Jennifer Shearer, Jed Lumpkin, and Allie Lumpkin.
Pallbearers will be Mark Elliott Hemleben, Mack Sullivan, Jeff Huxen, Wes Brister, Bryan Korken, Chandler Harell, Will Davis, and Terry Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jed Lumpkin, Levi Sullivan, and Jackson Sullivan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to University of Mississippi Chucky Mullins Memorial Scholarship Fund 406 University Ave. Memory House Oxford, MS 38655 with "In remembrance of Ron Durastanti" in the subject section.
