Mr. Ronnie Gene Turner, 72, of Merigold, MS, passed away on September 15, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Turner officiating. Interment will be in Inverness Cemetery.
Ronnie was born on May 28, 1946, to Jim and Mary Turner in Dublin, MS. He grew up in the MS Delta, attending school in Inverness, MS and Shelby, MS. Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Army. On August 1, 1973, he married Rhonda Marberry in Hattiesburg, MS. He enjoyed farming with Allendale Planting Company in Shelby, MS and later, driving his truck working for Woodard Eubanks and Sons for many years and the travel involved with that. Ronnie and Rhonda lived in Merigold, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mary Turner; brother, Danny Turner; and sister, Josie McGuffy.
Ronnie is survived by his spouse, Rhonda Marberry Turner of Merigold; daughter, Leslie Burrell (Jared) of Grenada; granddaughter, Anakate Burrell of Grenada; sister, Linda Fray (Joe) of Gulf Shores, AL; brother, Charles Turner of Moorehead; sister-in-law, Shirley Turner of Inverness and Joyce Armstrong of Henderson, NV; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jared Burrell, Todd Fulton, Brent Branning, Eric Fioranelli, Aaron Arledge, and Johnny Hobbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Junkin, J.W. Magee, and Maury Eubanks.
In memory of Ronnie, the family requests donations made to Paw Prints Animal Rescue and/or Bolivar County Humane Society.
