Sara Nelle Alston DeLoach, 84, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Sunday August 7, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, with Rev. Brad Beckwith officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, MS.
Sara Nelle was born in Lexington, MS on June 1, 1932. She married George Lake DeLoach Jr. on June 25, 1950, in Hollandale, MS. She worked in sales at Lowery's Jewelry and Levingston Furniture.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland, and she was very active in the church teaching and greeting people. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Jr. Auxiliary. She was a longstanding member and her closest friends were a group called "The Thimbles".
She is preceded by parents, Alexander Armstrong Alston and Sarah Elizabeth Davidson Alston.
Survivors include husband, George Lake DeLoach ,Jr.; son, George Lake DeLoach III; daughters, Sara Elizabeth DeLoach and Denise Goble; sister, Elizabeth Alford; brother, Alex Alston Jr.; and grandchildren, David and Caroline Goble.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Chruch of Cleveland 101 North Bolivar Ave. 38732.
