Shirley A. Carroll

Shirley A. Carroll, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Kings Daughters Hospital in Greenville, MS. Visitation will be 10: 30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. David Mancil officiating. Interment will be in Old Shaw Cemetery.
Shirley was born on January 21, 1942, to Robert Herbison and Cora Litton Herbison in Litton, MS. On December 22, 1965, she married Lucine W. "Buddy" Carroll, Jr.. After high school, she attended Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. Shirley enjoyed cooking, reading, listening to country music, writing letters, and doing genealogy. Her life revolved around being an amazing wife and mother who was always around.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Cora Herbison; and brother, Bobby Herbison.
Shirley is survived by her husband, L.W. "Buddy" Carroll of Boyle, MS; daughters, Kimberly Palmer (Bryan) of St. Edward, NE and Jennifer Grandstaff (Jimmy) of Bartlett, TN; granddaughters, Reagan Palmer and Alexandra Palmer, both of NE; sister, Winky Herbison of Germantown, TN; and best friend, Mary Stockton Williams of Las Vegas, NV.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Diabetes Association in honor of Mrs. Carroll.
