Sidney Earle Richmond, Sr.
Mr. Sidney Earle Richmond, Sr., 88, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church with Father Kent Bowlds officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Sidney was born on December 19, 1929, to James and Effie Richmond in Tucker, AR. On December, 13, 1958, he married Rosa Balducci Dangelo in Shelby, MS. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a 2nd class engineman. He worked for the City of Cleveland water department and for the fire department for 40 years until retirement. Sidney was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Cleveland Volunteer Fire Department, and Our Lady of Victories Church. He enjoyed crappie fishing on Beulah Lake.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Effie Richmond; wife, Rosa Dangelo Richmond; and son, Rodney Dangelo.
Sidney is survived by his children, Mike Dangelo (Gerri) of Madison, MS, Jerry Dangelo (Marianna) of Hollywood, FL, Sidney Richmond, Jr. (Karen) of Little Rock, AR, and Rebecca "Becky" White (Thomas) of Cleveland; grandchildren, Jason Dangelo, Joshua Dangelo, Ashlee Riccotti, Madeline Richmond, Mary Clemons, Cori Preston, and Holly White; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church Building Fund.
