Steve Allis, a beloved husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, passed away on June 21, 2025, in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Steve was born on January 5, 1951, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Richard Allis and Anna Dorcak. Steve lived a life filled with dedication, passion, and the warmth of family and friends.
Steve served for our country in the U.S. Navy. He was a talented cabinet designer and inspector, Steve carved out a successful career both independently and at America Woodmark Co. His educational foundation was laid at New Jersey Community College, which contributed to his expertise in his field.
Steve was not just a professional; he was a man of many joys and interests. He had a passion for yearly trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains where he cherished quality time with his sons and family. Fishing was a beloved pastime, allowing him to connect not only with nature but also with those he held dear. His love for the lottery and crossword puzzles highlighted his playful spirit, while his cherished man cave served as a personal retreat where he could unwind. Additionally, Steve had an affinity for playing softball, showcasing his competitive yet fun-loving nature.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ann Allis, and his sisters, Annette Hunter and Roberta Rich, Steve's spirit lives on in the memories and hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. His tenacity in life and love for family have left an indelible mark on all who encountered him.
Beyond his hobbies and career, Steve was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Allis, along with his two sons, Jason Allis (Amanda) of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Danny Allis (Sue) of Satellite Beach, Florida. Steve also embraced his role as a stepfather to Jennifer Roby and Jason Aycox, further enriching his family ties. He shared a close bond with his brothers, Robert Rich and Larry Allis, and his sister, Sheril Emerich. The joys of grandparenthood were evident in Steve's life as he treasured his grandchildren, including Haley and Juliana Aycox, Lainey, Tanner, Tyler and Carly Allis, Adam Jr. and Alyson Smith, as well as his great-grandchildren, Zavian, Melania, and Zydn Lewis.
Steve's legacy will also be remembered with fondness by his two beloved Shih Tzus, Snickers and Sadie, who brought light and companionship into his life.
