Susan Haney, 76, went to be with the Lord Monday, June 30, 2025. Visitation will be 2pm to 3pm Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 3pm. Pallbearers are Joseph Haney, Brandon Haney, Dylan Haney, Andrew Haney, Tyler Haney, Ian Denton and Zach Denton. Honorary Pallbearers are Mac Durastanti, Doug Mitchell and Daniel Stringfellow.
Susan was born June 29, 1949 in Clarksdale, MS to Willie Ray and Ida Dye. She married the love of her life, Jerry Haney, on June 27, 1969, at First Baptist Church in Shelby, MS. They lived life to the fullest with their beautiful 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Susan worked at Baxter for many years. She also worked alongside her husband, Jerry for many years as an insurance sales agent.
Susan went by many names: Aunt Sue, Sue, Mimi, Memaw and Momma. When she loved, she loved big. She never met a stranger and if she saw a baby anywhere she was going to stop and talk to them in that baby voice that would definitely make them grin. Her home was always open to nephews, nieces, grandkids, great grandkids, neighbors, kids from Calvary and really just anyone that needed someone. She loved going to yard sales and having yard sales as well as refurbishing old furniture with her husband, Jerry. Her smile was contagious and there was never anything she wouldn't do for her family, friends and even strangers.
She is preceded in passing by her loving husband of 56 years, Jerry Haney; parents, Willie Ray and Ida Kendall Dye; Brothers, Bobby Dye, Boyce 'BB' Dye and Gary Dye; Sister, Ruth Dye Mitchell.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly Durastanti (Mac); sons, Joseph "Guy" Haney (Glenda) and Jerry "Bo" Haney (Mandy); daughter, Nichole Denton (Ricky); grandchildren, Joseph, Brandon, Dylan, Andrew, Tyler, Grace, Kara, Cassidy, Ian, Zach and Taylor; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Branson, Rowan, Ashlan, Stormi, Brennan, Lela Juliette, Lincoln Ray and Thea Rose.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Memorial Hospital.
