Viro Cocilova, 89, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS with Rev. Tom Mullally officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 6-7 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. There will be a rosary at 7 after the visitation. Burial will follow funeral in Shaw Cemetery.
Mr. Cocilova was born to Giuseppe Cocilova and Emma Baioni Cocilova in Heathman, MS on September 12, 1920. He married Clara Rocconi Cocilova on March 4, 1946 in Cleveland, MS. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and VFW. He enjoyed playing bocci, cards,
gardening, and working in the yard.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Giuseppe Cocilova and Emma Baioni Cocilova, son, Roy Paul Cocilova, Sisters, Julia C. Rossetti and Jenny C. Rossetti, brothers, Bob Cocilova, Elio Cocilova, Johnny Cocilova, Sam Cocilova, and Costa Cocilova.
Mr. Cocilova is survived by his wife of 64 years, Clara Rocconi Cocilova of Shaw, MS, daughter, Dolores (Fred) C. Storey of Shaw, MS, sons, Doug (Cindy) Cocilova of Cleveland, MS, Larry (Tammy) Cocilova of Shaw, MS, grandchildren, Samuel (Sonya) Storey of Cleveland, Jonathan (Stacey) Storey of Cleveland, MS, Stephen (Amanda) Cocilova of Brandon, MS, Andrew (Ashley) Cocilova of Brandon, MS, and Nicholas Cocilova of Shaw, MS, great grandchild, Anthony Storey of Cleveland, MS, sisters Bea C. Rocconi, of Cleveland, MS, Pat C. Blardnelli and Mary C. Nowell Gendron both of Vera Beach, FL, Katie C. Espinoza of Hobbs, New Mexico, and brother, Dominic Cocilova of Vicksburg, MS.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw, MS.
Pallbearers will be Samuel Storey, Jonathan Storey, Stephen Cocilova, Andrew Cocilova, Michael Rocconi, and Jody Rocconi.
