Walter Clay Hearn
Mr. Walter Clay "Seymore" Hearn, 74, of Doddsville, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Delta Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Linn Baptist Church. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Linn Baptist Church with Rev. Milton Burd officiating. Interment will be in Linn Baptist Cemetery.
Walter was born on September 3, 1944, in Doddsville, MS, to Elmer Leroy Hearn and Virginia Laverne Stevens Hearn. In October of 1991, he married Gladys Marie Mann in Doddsville, MS, and they stayed happily married until her passing in November of 2016. Walter proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; He also was a proud Mason. He had a great sense of humor and could bring a smile to your face in a matter of seconds. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash and riding the backroads near his home place which he dearly loved. He looked at his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children and always treated them that way.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Marie Hearn; parents, Elmer Leroy Hearn and Virginia Laverne Stevens Hearn; sisters, Frances Hearn Abney, Audrey Hearn Newton, and Annie Hearn Brown; and brothers, Calvin Hearn, Dennis Hearn, Newman Hearn, and Bobby Hearn.
Walter is survived by his sister, Sandra Jennings of Gore Springs; brother, Samuel Hearn (Betty) of Linn; step-daughters, Patricia Kendall (Bubba) of Grenada, Linda Morris (Bud) of Michigan, Tammie Freeman (George) of Sunflower; and step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Nick Holmes, Tony Hearn, Doug Hearn, Larry Hearn, Gerald Downs, Robert Hearn, and Sam Hearn, Jr.
