Waltrude Melton, 84, of Boyle, MS went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 29, 2021. A visitation will be held 11:00 to 11:30 Friday, October 1, 2021. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at Boyle Baptist Church Boyle, MS. Interment will be at New Cleveland Cemetery.
Waltrude was born March 21, 1937 to Fritz and Sofie Steinmetz in Aschaffenburg, Germany. She married James Alvin Melton May 10, 1958 in Germany. Most people knew her as Trudy. Trudy enjoyed many different things. All of which centered around her home life. Her hobbies included cooking both American and German food and eating fish. Trudy enjoyed flowers and working in the yard. She loved her collection of Cardinal birds and Hummel figurines. Trudy was a great organizer and always had a clean house. She enjoyed her church family and her beloved boxer Tyson.
Waltrude is predeceased by her parents, Fritz and Sofie Steinmetz; stepmother, Clara Steinmetz; husband, James Melton; son, Frank Melton; son-in-law, Scott Ulrich; sisters, Anna Self and Renate Bennette. Her children and grandchildren all called her "Omi" and she is survived by her sons, Sidney (Memrie) Melton, and Michael (Jennifer) Melton; daughter, Linda Ulrich; grandchildren, Sidney Jr. (Kendall) Melton, Matt (Emily) Melton, Joshua (Ashley) Ulrich, Justin (Whitney) Ulrich, Courtney Ulrich, Annie (Tyler) Pearson; nephews, Yogan Self and Carl Melton Sr.; nieces, Diana Bennett and Michelle Bennett; great grandchildren, Leah, Liam, Mills, and Logan.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude Children's Hospital or Boyle Baptist Church.
