William Dill

William Theron Dill was born November 8, 1934 in Drew Mississippi and passed to his heavenly home January 16, 2023. He grew up on a farm out from Drew Mississippi. 
His first mode of transportation was his mule until his parents could afford a bicycle. He fell in love with a girl just down the dirt road. When they were 18, they eloped. He joined the Navy in 1954. After his Navy discharge they moved back to Drew. He tried various professions but nothing satisfied his passion like farming. He and his wife reared 3 boys on the farm teaching them the importance of hard work and being in church. Years of farming took its toll on his health and forced him to give up farming but delta dirt was in his veins and he was still enjoyed tending a large garden for years. In 2018 they left the place they called home for 58 years and moved to Laurel to a be closer to their son and daughter in law. 
He was preceded in death by his parents Aubrey and Elizabeth Dill. He leaves behind his wife of 70 years Betty Jane West Dill, a sister Bonnie Harris of Melborne, AR, sons Michael (Janell) of Drew, David (Kathy) of Laurel and Donald (Sherry) of Aberdeen, four grandchildren Stephanie (Jason) Goad, Stacey (Josh) West, Steven(Gina) Dill, Brian (Nikki) Dill , six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at West Drew Baptist Church on Thursday January 19, visitation will be at 1:pm and service at 2 pm. Rev. Jack Moore and Pastor Jack West will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Drew Baptist Church Building Fund, 139 Lombardy Road, Drew, MS 38737 or a charity of your choice.
