William (Bill) Lewis Killen, Jr., 71, of Cleveland passed away on June 11, 2024; the world lost a remarkable soul. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2024, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland, MS. Mass will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m.
He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on January 1, 1953, to Mattye Sue and William Lewis (W.L.) Killen, Sr. Bill came to Cleveland in 1970 to play baseball at Delta State for Boo Ferriss. He was known to many as a dedicated Independent Consultant in the AG industry. Bill's passion for agriculture and the great outdoors was evident throughout his life. His commitment to his work was unwavering, earning a Master's Degree from Delta State University and establishing himself in 45 years of experience as a cornerstone in the agricultural industry, particularly in rice production. Bill's expertise and dedication set him apart in his field. An avid sportsman and hunter, Bill appreciated God's creation through outdoor activities and upheld reverence for the Second Amendment.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bill will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and community. Later in life, he found immense joy in cooking for his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. His homemade "cathead" biscuits became legendary within the family, a true reflection of the warmth and love he put into everything he did.
Bill was devoted to his family, church community, and close friends. His motto "work hard play hard" embodied his approach to life, balancing dedication with moments of joy and laughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, W.L. and Mattye Sue Killen.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Stewart Killen of 46 years; daughter, Brooke Killen (Matt) Howard; sons, Will (Lindsey) and Van (Dorothy) Killen; grandchildren, Samuel Howard, Sean Howard, Hazel Killen, Ivan Killen, Linden Killen, Parker Killen, and Jack Henry Killen; sister, Debbie Killen-Nugent (Ken); brothers, Bob and Joe (LaShell) Killen.
In honoring Bill's life and legacy, let us cherish the memories we shared with him - a man whose kindness, dedication to family & faith, and love for God's creations left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know him.
Rest in peace, William Lewis Killen, Jr., your spirit will continue to guide us as we carry your memory forward with love and gratitude.
