Willie Ray Grantham

Willie Ray Grantham, a beloved member of the Merigold community and cherished family man, passed away on November 17, 2025, in Cleveland, MS, at the age of 72.

Willie was born on July 30, 1953, to Willard Sr. & Ethel Quinton Grantham in Sledge, MS, Willie made an indelible mark on those who knew him through his kind spirit and steadfast dedication to his family.

A proud alumnus of Cleveland High School, Willie dedicated a significant part of his career to the Parts & Service division at Ford Motor Company, where his work ethic and commitment were well-regarded. Outside of work, Willie had a passion for racing, which fueled his competitive spirit and love for excitement. He cherished quiet moments at home watching classic television shows like "Leave It to Beaver," often enjoying a Busch Lite and some dip—a simple pleasure that brought him joy.

Above all else, Willie’s most profound love was for his family. He is survived by his sister, Connie Grantham Smith, who stands as a testament to the special bond they shared. In his later years, he received devoted care from his friends, Brent Branning, Jo Miller, and Kevin Nolette, whose kindness and support uplifted Willie during challenging times. Special thanks to Dr. Clark and Bobby Biles and One Stop Staff for their care of Willie.

Willie is preceded in death by his loving parents, Willard Sr. and Ethel Quinton Grantham, who instilled in him values of hard work and family devotion. He was also preceded by his brothers, Willard “Rick” Grantham Jr., Jimmy “Mickey” Grantham, and Johnny Grantham. Each of these relationships contributed to the man he became and the love he spread throughout his life.

Willie Ray Grantham will be remembered not only for his passions and interests but, most importantly, for the love he expressed to his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
