Willie Earline Pannell, a cherished member of her community, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2024, in Cleveland, Mississippi, at the age of 86. The family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Willie’s life on September 30, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM at Ray Funeral Home, in Cleveland, MS, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM. A Graveside Service will take place at a later date.
Willie was born on September 19, 1938, to Andy Lee and Maudie Carson in Ruleville, MS. She brought joy and warmth to those around her. A graduate of Ruleville High School, she went on to create life marked by hard work and dedication, serving as a manager at a retail store.
Willie was known for her strong and outspoken personality, which was balanced by her heart of gold. She had a unique ability to connect with others, and her kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. In her leisure time, she found solace her love for animals, caring for her feline pets. She also enjoyed working on her puzzle books and puzzle pieces, a hobby that reflected her love for challenges and her sharp mind. Willie loved cooking for family and friends, she made sure no one left hungry. Although she loved to cook, in later years she loved it more when her children would cook her favorite dishes for her. She cherished the time spent together. Willie loved the ladies at Azaela Commons, and they loved her.
Willie is preceded in death by her parents, Andy Lee and Maudie Carson, her sisters Iva Mae Snelson, Frances Sue Peterson, Pearlie Mae Terrell, and Sally Grant, as well as her brother Andy Lee Carson Jr. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
She is survived by her beloved children, daughter Debra Pannell (Dana) of Boyle, MS, and son Paul Pannell (Tina) of Cleveland, MS. She also leaves behind loving memories shared with her cherished grandchildren, Marlie Brooke Bryan (Auburn), Catherine Earline Whitten (Treyton), Collin Douglas Pannell, Cassie Prado (Champ), Kristen Scott (Tom), and Bryson Russell. Additionally, she shared a special bond with her best friend Brenda Eldridge and was adored by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Willie Earline Pannell’s legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
