Willie Sellers

Willie Marshall Sellers was born April 7, 1945, and went to this final resting place with our Lord November 16, 2023.A visitation will be held Tuesday November 21, 2023 from 11-12pm at Ray Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service following at 12 at Ray Funeral Home. A Graveside service  will proceed in the Beluah Cemetery.

  He lived his entire life in the Cleveland, Shaw, and Benoit area.  Willie has a multitude of friends and family.  If he ever met a stranger, you were not a stranger very long.  He had a gift, he would have you laughing and talking very soon!  He loved meeting people, talking, laughing, and having fun.  He loved telling jokes, playing pranks and telling funny stories- mostly about crazy things he had done.  When Willie and I, were married in 1995, it was a whole new world for me.  He has the most loving, caring and fun-loving family I have ever known and I immediately was accepted as one of their own.  I love them all dearly.  Willie brought so much fun and laughter to my family as well.  If you ever became friends with Willie, you were a friend for life.  He was always calling to “check-on” his friends and family.  He was a very active member of Skene Baptist Church, and later Boyle First Baptist Church.  Always finding things that needed to be done and getting them done.  Willie loved life and having friends and family around all the time.  If ever you were having a bad day, just call Willie or drop by and he would have you laughing and feeling better in no time!  I would like to say “thank you” to all of our families, friends and church families for all of their prayers and support during this time.  I would especially like to thank my daughter, Natalie and her family, Greg, Sophie and Amelia for taking care of my every need during our stay in Jackson.  Also, I thank his sister, Mary, for being by my side every moment, helping me make decisions, and just laughing and crying with me- love you, Mary! Also, thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and entire staff at UMMC for taking such good care of Willie with wisdom and understanding.  Most of all I thank our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who held me together and guided me through this every step of the way “Thank You”

He is predeceased by his parents, Cutie and Fat Sellers; daughter, Stephanie Sellers of Cleveland, MS; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn Lee (Paul) of Melbourne, AR; sister-in-laws, Patty Sue Huff of Holly Bluff, MS, Sandra Travis of Cleveland, MS; brother-in-laws, Kenny Coker of Alexandra, AL, Ray Travis of Rosedale, MS; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Ned and Nelda Travis of Lafayette, LA, and Tee and Laurel Travis of Rosedale, MS. 

Willie is survived by his loving wife, Ruthie Sellers of Shaw, MS; sisters, Evelyn Fuxa (Tom) of Fort Lupton, CO and Mary Coker of Clinton, MS; brother, Lewis Sellers (Ellen) of Shaw, MS; stepson, Adam Boren of Boyle, MS; stepdaughters, Jennifer McIntosh of Kelispell, MT and Natalie Yurkow   (Greg) of Brandon, MS; sisters-in-laws, Betty Travis of Rosedale, MS and Patricia Junkin of Cleveland, MS; brother-in-laws, Buddy Travis (Brenda) of Boydton, VA and Joe Travis (Sandra) of McCall Creek, MS; and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins.
