Mr. Wyndell Davidson, 78, of Merigold, passed away Monday, November 14, 2016, in Clarksdale. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Green Acres Memorial Park Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS with Rev. Bobby Turner officiating. Mr. Davidson was born September 13, 1938, in Philadelphia, MS, to J.D. and Claudia Davidson. He graduated from Ruleville High School. He and his first wife, Ruth, had four children together.
He proudly served his Country in the National Guard. He took pride in his job and was a hard worker building many bridges in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas while working for MDOT for 35 years before retiring. Later in life he married, Edna Kelly. Mr. Davidson loved his family with his whole heart and always looked out for them. He had the biggest and kindest heart that drove him to help others whenever the opportunity arose. He donated to charities, sponsored children overseas, and gave blood every chance he was able to. To sum him up, he was a very giving human being. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Claudia Davidson; wife, Edna Kelly; and sisters, Sarah Dye and Margie Hearn. Mr. Davidson is survived by his children, Marie Stephens (Mike) of Pearl, MS, Margaret Wolverton (Ron) of Mary Esther, FL, Boyd Davidson (Denise)
of Jackson, MS, and Paul Davidson (Angela) of Brandon, MS; sisters, Peggy Langston (Glenn) of Tupelo, MS and Sherry Weeks of Merigold, MS; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Chris Wolverton, Jerry Wolverton, Eddie Langston, David Weeks, Doug Hearn, and Doyle Milan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Grantham, Lon Booker, and B. B. Dye. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to a charity of your choice.
