Audrey Mae €œJudy€ Calvert Hooper, 79, passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at the University Medical Center in Jackson, surrounded by her family. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Cleveland with Bro. Park Neff officiating. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Ray Funeral Home.
Judy was born May 2, 1931 in Litton, MS, to Eulie Edward Calvert and Lorena Maebell Barnes Calvert. She attended Boyle High School. She was married to R. L. €œPhid€ Hooper, Jr. in Leland at Turner€™s Hardware Store on September 5, 1948. They were happily married for 62 years. Judy owned and operated €œThe >She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Louis €œBuddy€ Calvert.
She is survived by her husband R. L. €œPhid€ Hooper, Jr. of Cleveland; sons, Fred L.€Butch€ Hooper and wife Brenda of Colorado and Eulie Frank Hooper of Texas; sister, Mary Frances Hannon of Pearl, MS; six grandchildren, Abby Morris, Monica Wright, Scott Alley, Jennifer Walton, Heather Hooper and Elizabeth Hooper; four great grandchildren, Jake and Alex Wright, Grant Morris, and Emily Walton; and many, many friends who loved her.
