Estel Steed Obituary
Mr. Estel Lamar Steed, 88, passed away July 7, 2010 at Oxford Baptist Hospital in Oxford, MS. Funeral services will be at 2:00 on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Ray Funeral Home with Thomas Bruce officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. Steed was born on September 3, 1921 to Monroe L. Steed and Molly V. Reynolds in Sunflower County. He was married to Mary Agnes Floyd for 64 years. Mr. Steed was a member of the VFW, American Legion, he loved going to his cabin on the lake.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Steed; brothers, Edward G. Steed, Carlee Steed, Bernice Steed, James Steed , Raymond Steed, Bobby Steed; and sisters, Merle Dreher and Lillian Bingham.
He is survived by his sons, Lawrence E. Steed of Cleveland, MS, Thomas G. Steed of Kissimmee, FL; Seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers William (Bill) Steed of Beulah, MS, Talmadge Steed of Vicksburg, MS; sisters, Hazel Tedford of Gunnison, MS, Ruby Horton of Stuggart, AR.
Pallbearers will be Robert Steed, Michael Steed, Larry Liddell, Sean Steed, Joshua Marzolf, Billy Fly, Alton Vance, and Harvey Dreher.
