Etta Weeks

Mrs. Etta Evelyn Weeks, 76, of Shaw, MS, passed away, Monday, October 10, 2011 at South Sunflower Hospital in Indianola, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Celebration of life service will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Gerald Greenlee, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Weeks was born March 7, 1935 to Melton Holloway McKnight and Claudia Barrentine in Cleveland, MS. She married James Ralph Weeks in Shaw, MS on July 14, 1953. She was a member of the Interstate Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Weeks Brookins of Shaw, MS; granddaughter, Janet Ray (James) of Indianola, MS; grandsons, David Walden (Bridget) of Winston Salem, NC and Daniel Walden (Susan) Germany; and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Emmitt McKNight of Indianola, MS; sisters, Lady Katherine Mullen (Hob) of Indianola, MS and Almarene Palmer of Benoit, MS.
Mrs. Weeks is preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Weeks and her parents.
