Gladys Bishop

Mrs. Gladys Nell Schaefer Bishop, 80, of Cleveland, MS passed away at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation Monday, May 30, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.. Celebration of life service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Haney and Rev. Clarence Edwards officiating. Burial will follow funeral service in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Bishop was born to Charlie Edward Schaefer and Mary Amelia Marquis on December 11, 1930 in Leland, MS. She moved to Boyle in 1937and later married Gerald Eugene Bishop November 24, 1949. Mrs. Bishop was a life member of V.F.W. Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Boyle. She worked for Baxter for four and a half years and the Boyle Beauty Salon for forty four years.
Mrs. Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
She is survived by her son; Danny E. Bishop (Donna) of New Orleans, LA; daughter, Belinda B. Hunter (Wayne) of Greenville, MS; grandchildren; Hope B. McKee, Tommy E. Bishop (Brittany), Lacey Hunter, and Karla Hunter; great-granddaughter, Ally McKee; and sister, Rose S. Coleman (Gene) of Greenville, MS.
