Ina Smith Obituary
Ina Dean McLemore Gordin Smith, 85, died Wednesday September 7, 2011, in Oxford.
Services will be held at 2 pm Friday at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland. Burial will follow at Merigold Cemetery in Merigold. Visitation will precede the services from 12 noon until 2 pm at the funeral home.
Born in Duncan, to Robert Iva and Mary Lou McLemore, she graduated from Benoit High School and lived in Greenwood, Vicksburg, Merigold, Derma, and Oxford. She was a member of Derma Baptist Church and formerly a member of Merigold Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching children's Sunday School and sewing and reading. She was a devoted wife and mother and worked for many years as a legal secretary and bookkeeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James F. "Jack" Smith and granddaughter Cynthia Harrison.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Gordin Harrison of Antioch, Illinois; Rita Gordin Goodson of Grenada; and Melissa Gordin Alexander of Oxford; one son, Dennis Gordin of Taylors, South Carolina; one sister, Margie Pauls of Fayetteville, Arkansas; one brother, James R. "Sonny" McLemore of Monroe, Louisiana; and four grandchildren, Marshall, Amanda, William, and Angela Alexander of Oxford.
