Martha Louise Tidmore, 84, of Merigold, MS went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Drew City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Denny Williams, Scott Griffin, Tripp Haynes, Robert Ed Connell, Kody Chandler, and Kyle Chandler.
Louise was born on April 4, 1942, to Phillip Arden Blackwell and Cordell Williamson Blackwell in Mendenhall, MS. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1961.
Louise married Archie Clyde (A. C.) Tidmore, Jr. on November 26, 1961, in Cleveland, MS.
Louise attended Mississippi Delta Community College and earned her certification as a Registered Nurse. She practiced nursing at Mississippi State Penitentiary in Parchman, MS and Bolivar County Hospital, and she was an administrator in long-term care at Greenwood Specialty Hospital. She was also a nursing instructor at Mississippi Delta Community College.
Louise was a member of First Baptist Church, Cleveland, MS. She was president of Drew Garden Club, which won multiple state awards during her tenure. She was also a member of the Drew Culture Club.
Louise was an avid gardener and loved tending the flowers and plants in her "happy place," her backyard. She and A. C. enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Louise is survived by her children Amy Smith of Brandon, MS; Angie (Phil) Robinson of Arlington, TN; and Art (Sandy) Tidmore of Merigold, MS; her brother Phillip (Linda) Blackwell of Decatur, GA; and grandchildren Tanner (Anna Grace) Tidmore of Hernando, MS; Andrew Robinson of Conway, AR; Hays Tidmore of Perry, FL; and Darby Robinson and Nathan Robinson of Arlington, TN.
She is preceded in death by her husband A. C. Tidmore; infant son Archie Clyde Tidmore, III; parents Phillip and Cordell Blackwell; and brothers Wendell Blackwell of Amite, LA; Gerald Blackwell of Cheyenne, WY; and Harold Blackwell of Lafayette, LA.
