Mary Lewis Obituary
Mrs. Mary Ellen Bullock Lewis, 83, of Rosedale, MS, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2012 at her home. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012 at the home of Bill and Becky Lewis in Rosedale. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30 a.m. March 31, 2012 at Rosedale Methodist Church with Rev. Hugh HolderCummings officiating.
Mrs. Lewis was born June 1, 1928 in Rosedale to Henry Clay and Essie Foreman Bullock. She graduated from Rosedale High School, attended Belhaven College and graduated with a BA degree from the University of Mississippi. On June 22, 1952 in Rosedale, she married her high school sweetheart John William Lewis who preceeded her in death 3 years ago. Mrs. Lewis began playing the piano and organ for the Rosedale Methodist Church in her late teens and continued to do so until recently. Playing for the church was something she loved to do and her beautiful music was appreciated by everyone who heard it. She enjoyed crocheting and in the past year was able to make afgans for her 3 great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Becky Lewis; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Buddy McCreary; daughter, Bobbie Nell Lewis; grandchildren, Lynn Arnold (Matt), John Lewis (Andrea), Anna Lewis (Tim), Mary Kelly (Oakley) and David Lewis; Great-grandchildren, Lizzie, Caden and Liam.
Pallbearers will be John Lewis, David Lewis, Tim Mulrooney, Matt Arnold, Drew Lewis, and Richard Shelby. Honorary pallbearers will be John Pearson, Joe Barnes, Leo MeGee, Jan Turner, Jimmie Person, Robert Crump, Jody Gibson, Donny Caffey, Oakley Kelly, Ed Wilson, Wade Boyette, Tommy Courtney, and C.T. Danna.
