Rachel Hooper Obituary
Miss. Rachel Hooper, 88, of Cleveland, MS passed away, Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.. Celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home, Thursday, May 26, 2011. Burial will follow services in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Miss. Hooper was born March 29, 1923 in Merigold, MS. She graduated from Merigold High School and attended Delta State University. She worked for Production Credit Association for six years. She also worked for Federal Land Bank as Vice President for 33 years until her retirement in 1985. Miss Hooper was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland. Rachel's life was her family. She loved spending time with nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Brooks Hooper; sister, Frances H. McCrory; two sisters- in-law, Audrey Hooper and Pat Hooper; and nephew, Bobby McCrory.
Miss. Hooper is survived by her three brothers, Claude "Dick" Hooper (Ernestine), Roscoe "Phid" Hooper both of Cleveland, and Howard "Losie" Hooper of Greenville; sister- in- law, Dolly Hooper of Cleveland; three nieces; five nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and great, great, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews and honorary pallbearers will be great nephews.
