Richard Gooden

Mr. Richard Alvin Gooden 71, of Cleveland, MS, passed away at his home Saturday, May 28, 2011. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.. Celebration of life service will be Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Bruce officiating. Burial will follow services in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. Gooden was born February 8, 1940 in Cleveland, MS to John Sterling Gooden and Gertha Jones. He married Heather Ann Bramley on May 13, 1967 in Trinidad, W.I.. Mr. Gooden served in the Navy during Vietnam. After 20 years of service to his country he retired from the Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Heather Gooden; son, Manfred Gooden (Yolanda); granddaughter, Amber Gooden; aunt, Vernell Jones; Stanley Jones (Pam), and Barbara Turner.
Pallbearers will be Keith Jones, Ken Jones, Tate Turner, Greg Rikard, Manfred Gooden, and Tommy Ferracci
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
