Richard Taylor Obituary
Richard "Dicky" Taylor, 56, of Cleveland, passed away, Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 6 till 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Interstate Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Haney and Bro. John Chouccoli officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Delta Memorial Garden in Cleveland.
Mr. Taylor was born January 26, 1956, to Howard Taylor and Genell Hoffman Taylor. On October 4, 1975, he married Nina Cobb Taylor. He worked at Delta State University as a purchasing agent for 4 years and he enjoyed driving the Delta State bus for various groups for ten years. He drove the athletes to several championship games and he also enjoyed driving Renaissance performing group of Delta State University. He was a member of the Interstate Baptist Church and his most enjoyable pastime was spending time with his granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Taylor; Brothers, David Taylor, and Gene Taylor, and son, Ricky Taylor.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nina Taylor of Cleveland; daughter, Memrie (Jamey) Litton of Shaw; Granddaughter, Laney Brooks Litton of Shaw; mother, Genell Taylor of Cleveland; brothers, Danny Taylor of Cleveland, Darrell Taylor (Carol) of Cleveland, Jerry Taylor (Vickie) of Cleveland and Jimmy Taylor of Missouri; sister, Donna Yates (Doug) of Arkoma, Ok; And a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Taylor, Jr., Kevin Yates, Chris Taylor, Craig Taylor, Allen McDaniel, Destry Harmon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Skeeter Bowen, Stanley Cobb, Marlon Cobb, Jerry Taylor, Danny Taylor, Darrell Taylor, and Doug Yates.
Memorials can be made to the Interstate Baptist Church Music Fund.
