Robbie Abel Obituary
Mrs. Robbie H. Abel, 98, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012, at Bolivar Medical Long Term Care. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Breland and Rev. John Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Abel was born in Skene on August 31, 1914, to Bob Allen Howard, Sr. and Katie Ragland Howard. On January 6, 1932, she married Ernest Frank "Buck" Abel, Sr.. She loved music and showed her talent often by playing piano and organ. She was the pianist for church for many years and taught piano as well. Mrs. Abel was the past president of Kings Daughters and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Kinard (Tommy) of Hernando, MS; son, Ernest F. Abel (Barbara) of Cleveland; sister, Kate Vorhies of Cleveland, MS; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Kinard, Tommy Kinard, Jr., Bobby Stanford, Gale Roark, William Avritt and Larry Harkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Howarth and Lonnie Sims.
In Memory of Mrs. Abel, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Morrison Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund, and/or Parkway Baptist Church in Hernando, MS.
