Robert Fleming Obituary
Delta State University Professor Robert Fleming, 48, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland. Visitation will be held at Ray Funeral Home on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m.. There will be a service monday at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell, LA.
Robert Fleming was born on June 16, 1962 to Meigs Frost Fleming and Georgia Beth Fritchie in New Orleans, LA. He married Joy Elizabeth Soeller on August 19, 1989 in Slidell, LA. They were happily married for 21 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Meigs Frost Fleming.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Soeller Fleming of Cleveland, MS; daughter, Megan Elizabeth Fleming of Cleveland, MS; son, Miles Frost Fleming of Cleveland, MS; mother, Beth Fritchie Fleming Dendinger of Slidell, LA; step-father, Albert Dendinger of Slidell, LA; and step-mother, Patricia Fleming of Lafitte, LA.
Though Robert was born and raised in Slidell, Louisiana, he and his family have made Cleveland their home for 21 years. He loved reading, playing pool, was a skilled chef, and loved playing with his dogs, and spending time with his children. Teaching was his life and always got a joy from instructing his students.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Foundation for Multiple Sclerosis.
