Russie Daniel McIntyre

Russie Daniel McIntyre, 68, of Drew Mississippi passed away July 4, 2026. Services will be Thursday, July 9, 2026 at North Sunflower Academy Gymnasium. Visitation 11am to 1pm. Funeral at 1pm with graveside to follow at Drew Cemetery. Bro. Earl McCown and Bro. Larry Chouccoli will officiate. Russie was born April 30, 1958 in Beaumont, TX. to the late Dewey Raymond McIntyre and Ada Sue Tharp McIntyre. His family moved to Drew at an early age and he attended Drew High School, where he graduated in 1976. He furthered his education at Mississippi Delta Community College where he earned an associate degree in Electronics Technology. In the 80s Russie began farming and working at Napa Auto Parts in Drew. He later went on to work as supervisor of Sunflower County Road Department until his retirement in 2021. Russie proudly served as a member of the Drew Volunteer Fire Department for 41 years and served as Chief for the last 15 years. Russie had many past times that brought him joy. He enjoyed working the chain gang at football games and cheering on his Rebels, both North Sunflower Academy and Ole Miss. He enjoyed most of his activities with his partner aka “Honey”,Ruby. He was a master at line dancing and enjoyed listening to the pickins. He was very competitive and loved winning all types of games. Farming was his passion and his Farmall tractors were a staple for his crops of soy beans and wheat. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Drew and was baptized in 2021 by Bro. Earl McCown. Russie’s proudest accomplishment of all was being a great father to his children, son Dustin and daughter Ryan. Russie is preceded in death by his parents Dewey Raymond and Sue Tharp McIntyre. He is survived by his children; daughter, Ryan Danielle McIntyre (Calton Roberson) of Oxford; son, Robert Dustin McIntyre (Emily) of Drew; devoted partner, Ruby Johnson of Cleveland; brother, Ray McIntyre (Natalie) of Clute, TX; sister, Donna McInytre Platt (Jim) of Clute, TX; sister, Brenda McIntyre Myers of DeRidder, LA; aunt, JoAnn Malone of Drew; Krista Salazar and family of Gulfport, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
