Thomas Bruce

Thomas Alvin Bruce, 66, of Cleveland, passed away at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Eugene Walden officiating. Interment will be in Drew City Cemetery.
Mr. Bruce was born in Humphries County, Mississippi on October 25, 1946, to John Baylus Bruce, Jr. and Rena Mae Morris Bruce. He was married to Glenda G. Bruce for 44 years. Surrendered to preach on April 19, 1992 and served Trinity Baptist Church in Rosedale, Bethany Baptist Church in Merigold, Philip Baptist Church in Philip, Cascilla Baptist Church in Cascilla, Yale Street Baptist Church in Cleveland. He loved God, Family and Football, especially Mississippi State.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John B. Bruce, Jr and Rena Morris Bruce; Brother, Steve L. Bruce.
Mr. Bruce is survived by his wife, Glenda G. Bruce of Cleveland; daughter, Katrena Bruce McDaniel (Troy) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Robbie McDaniel and Mary Slay McDaniel of Greenwood; Brother, Kenneth I Bruce (Kay) of Nashville; Nephews, John B. Bruce (Dawn) of Memphis, TN, Kenneth I Bruce Jr. (Jessica) of Cleveland; Great Niece, Tyler Lee Bruce of Memphis, TN.
