William Harkins

Mr. William (Bill) Raymond Harkins, 73, of Merigold, MS, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be at Ray Funeral Home, Thursday, March 10, 2011, from 6:00- 8:00 p.m.. Celebration of life service will be at Ray Funeral Home, Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.. Burial will follow funeral service in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. Harkins was born January 10, 1938 to Daniel Thomas Harkins and Jimmie Christine Caston in Belzoni, MS. He married Dorothy Jane King, August 29, 1959 in Merigold, MS.
He is preceded in death by his son, Joe Harkins; and son-in-law, Andy Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Harkins of Merigold, MS; daughters, Karen Hughes of Madison, MS, and Michelle Austin (Greg) of Madison, MS; son, Larry Harkins (Natalie) of Cleveland, MS; daughter-in-law, Donna Harkins of Madison, MS; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
